UK Government Scholarships The British Council administers the UK Government's Chevening Scholarship Programme. This programme is a special worldwide scheme to fund Master's study by international students. For further information please go to www.chevening.com or contact your local British Council office www.britishcouncil.org. Queen Mary attracts about 20 Chevening Scholarship winners every year. In 2002/3 the winners are studying for masters degrees in Law, Electronic Engineering, Public Policy, Film Studies and Chemistry. Your local British Council office will also be able to inform you of other scholarships opportunities open to you. Queen Mary, University of London - College Scholarships Every year the Department of Electronic Engineering offers a limited number of scholarships worth £1500 each to MSc students. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional academic merit, on a first come first served basis and are made at the time of application. In order to claim a College Scholarship students must first accept thier offer of a place at QMUL. Department of Electronic Engineering Scholarships for International Students As a leading international force in teaching and research the Department of Electronic Engineering at Queen Mary attracts students of the highest calibre and, in recognition of the important investment that students are making in their education, is pleased to offer a range of scholarships to reward outstanding academic achievement. The Department of Electronic Engineering is pleased to be able to offer students from selected countries a £2000 scholarship for each of all programmes listed below: MSc in Internet Computing MSc in Internet Computing in the Business Environment MSc in Internet Computing with Law MSc in E-Commerce Engineering MSc in E-Commerce Engineering in the Business Environment MSc in E-Commerce Engineering with Law MSc in Telecommunications MSc in Telecommunications in the Business Environment MSc in Telecommunications with Law MSc in Digital Signal Processing MSc in Internet Signal Processing MSc in Wireless Networks MSc in Digital Music Processing MSc in Multimedia Systems Technology Students from the following places are eligible for these scholarships: Bangladesh Brazil China, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR India Iran Kenya Malaysia Nigeria Pakistan Russia Sri Lanka South Korea Thailand Vietnam (only available to September 2005 applicants or later) In order to be eligible for these awards you must: be nationals of the applicable countries listed above AND be classified as an international student for fees purposes. AND apply for a masters programme by July 30 of the year of entry. Please note: There is no need to make a separate scholarship application. All eligible candidates will be considered on the basis of the information provided in their application form. You will be informed whether you have been awarded a scholarship when we make you an offer. Early application will increase the probability of you being awarded a scholarship Candidates must not be in receipt of any other University scholarship or a full fees scholarship from any other source (e.g. The Chevening Scheme) The scholarship awards will be deducted from tuition fees payable to the University Please note that in most cases the University only awards partial scholarships and competition for these awards is intense. Students must be able to finance the remainder of their tuition fees and living expenses.
