Postgraduate country-specific scholarships 2007
There are two types of postgraduate country-specific scholarships:
- Kingston University scholarships
- Chevening scholarships – jointly funded with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
Kingston University scholarships
We administer these scholarships based on level of study and country. You can apply if you:
- are an international student (classified as “overseas” for fee purposes) from one of the countries listed;
- have an offer of a place on a postgraduate course; and
- are not currently registered on a course.
Country-specific postgraduate scholarships are available for:
How are the scholarships awarded?
The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of:
- academic merit
- financial need
- what you expect to gain from the course you are taking
- what you intend to do after completing the course.
Two awards of £3,000 for 2007 entry are open to prospective full-time postgraduates in any subject area on a one-year taught Master's degree.
Applicants should:
- be nationals of the People’s Republic of China (mainland only)
- be classified as “overseas” for fee purposes
- not be currently registered on a postgraduate course at Kingston University
- have received an offer of a place at Kingston for 2007 entry
The closing date for applications is 31 May 2007.
Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria awards
Two awards of £3,000 for 2007 entry are open to prospective full-time postgraduates in any subject area on a one-year taught Master's degree.
Applicants should:
- be nationals of Kenya, Ghana or Nigeria
- be classified as “overseas” for fee purposes
- not be currently registered on a postgraduate course at Kingston University
- have received an offer of a place at Kingston for 2007 entry
The closing date for applications is 31 May 2007.
Pakistan awards
Two awards of £3,000 for 2007 entry are open to prospective full-time postgraduates in any subject area on a one-year taught Master's degree.
Applicants should
- be nationals of Pakistan
- be classified as “overseas” for fee purposes
- not be currently registered on a postgraduate course at Kingston University
- have received an offer of a place at Kingston for 2007 entry

Turkey awards
Two awards of £3,000 for 2007 entry are open to prospective full-time postgraduates in any subject area on a one-year taught Master's degree.
Applicants should:
- be nationals of Turkey
- be classified as “overseas” for fee purposes
- not be currently registered on a postgraduate course at Kingston University
- have received an offer of a place at Kingston for 2007 entry

USA awards
Two awards of £3000 for 2007 entry are open to prospective full-time postgraduates in any subject area on a one-year taught Master's degree.
Applicants should:
- be nationals of the USA
- be classified as “overseas” for fee purposes
- not currently registered on a postgraduate course at Kingston University
- have received an offer of a place at Kingston for 2007 entry
